The 2st INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS, ICAD, will take place on 28th of February and 1st of March 2018, in the context of R+T 2018 in Stuttgart/ Germany and jointly organized by APA (Spanish Automatic Doors Manufacturer Association) and Messe Stuttgart. Once again, the event receives the support of national and international door and gate associations e.g. APA Brasil, APA Chile, APA México, APA Peru, ACMI, BVT, DASMA, IDA and CESPA. Further associations in Europe and China are invited to join this international collaboration.

The 2st INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS will focus on the topic “International topics and Challenges of the sectors”

The ICAD project was initiated by APA in 2016 with the task of communicating, analysing, examining and promoting themes of great relevance for the automatic doors and gates sector, at an international level.

The INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS provides a cross-the-borders communication platform for the international industry associations. Within the scope of this congress different matters (e.g.,”standards “, “installation & maintenance“, "safety “, “professionalization“) can be discussed at regular intervals helping to increase the development and the visibility of each sector in each country or regional trade blocs (EU, NAFTA, Mercosur, ASEAN, etc.).

This international collaboration brings benefits to all countries and sectors of automatic doors collectively and individually as many automatic doors companies operate in more than one country, as global companies.

ICAD, long-term goal of APA and its collaborating partners Messe Stuttgart (R+T), Feria Valencia (FIPA) is to establish a congress that is organized on a regular basis with changing locations, but always parallel to one of the sector-relevant trade fairs e.g. FIPA, R+T and in the future IDA Expo, R+T Asia, R+T Turkey, R+T South America, etc. 

APA and the corresponding trade fair organizer (in 2018 Messe Stuttgart, in 2019 maybe IDA Expo) are responsible for the organization of the needed infrastructure, speakers and promotion activities. The collaborating partners (Messe Stuttgart, Feria Valencia, industry associations) support these efforts with promotion activities and provide input for the agenda.

The 1st INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS, organized by APA (Spanish Automatic Doors Manufacturer Association) and E.D.S.F (European Door and Shutter Federation), took place in the context of FIPA (Valencia/ Spain, 8-9 February 2017), under the title” Industries, Markets and Realities”.

The event was established in collaboration with Feria Valencia, FIPA, E.D.S.F., Tecniguego-Aespi, PA ediciones, Tecnalia, FEMPA, Generalitat Valenciana and the Spanish associations of installers and maintainers (collaborating members of APA).

The “conference of the congress”, which took place on 9th of February 2017 in Feria Valencia, was without doubt a great success and attended by a total number of 670 professionals from the sector.
